Beaugency (45)

The siege of the town of Beaugency was marked by the unplanned arrival of the constable ofRichemont, who was yet without grace before the king. Before such reinforcement, the Englishgarrison quickly surrendered, which permitted the French to return to Meung, besieged by theBritish soldiers of Captains Fastalf and Talbot. The Dunois castle is home to a museum. A statue ofJoan of Arc, by Fournier, is found at the foot of the great donjon of the 11th century which dominatesthe town.
