On May 8th, 1429, the victory of the French army over the English army, who was practicallyinvincible until then, had an immense impact on France and the whole of Europe. This unique eventin France is remembered every year in a ceremony that has been celebrated almost withoutinterruption since 1430. The city and its historical heart have metamorphosed during these lastyears. One can still see some important remains of the medieval enclosure as well as the house ofJacques Boucher, reconstructed in 1961.
