In the winter of 1429, Joan of Arc accepted a series of military operations ordered by Charles VII. Atthe end of October, she put the siege in front of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier. The first attack broke outon the ramparts of the place from which a large garrison kept watch. It was a stampede. Joan of Arcwas the only one standing at the edge of the gulf with her flag and in the company of some men. Thevirgin took off her helmet and affirms “I am not alone! I have 50,000 of my people with me! (….)
Everybody to your fagots and hurdles!” At this order, the French Soldiers came back and won asudden and audacious victory.
